A todas nos encanta pintarnos los labios de vez en cuando o no?

Pero alguna vez te has preguntado de dónde vienen los lipsticks o cómo fue que se inventaron? Es un tema interesante ya que si no existieran no se que haríamos jaja.

Los lápices labiales existen desde la prehistoria, no tan sofisticados como en esta época pero existían.

Los primeros se cree que surgieron en Mesopotamia, trituraban las joyas y las usaban en los labios. El color rojo salió de los egipcios, Cleopatra utilizaba uno que era de escarabajos carmín triturados.

En el siglo XVI con la Reina Elizabeth I, cuando empezaba más la moda de los labiales, con los rostros pálidos y los labios intensamente rojos, ahí se hacían los labiales con cera de abejas y pigmentos rojos de las plantas. En la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fue mucho más cotizado, ya que por el cine se usaba más.

En 1884 Guerlain, una compañía francesa se convirtió en la primera marca de labiales comerciales; los hacían de sebo de ciervo, aceite de ricino, cera de abejas y luego lo cubrían con papel encerado.

En 1915 se vendió el primer labial en un contenedor metálico inventado por Maurice Levy, pero en 1923 se creó el mecanismo giratorio por James Bruce Mason Jr. En 1930 se invento el lip gloss por Max Factor. Como muchos sabemos, Marilyn Monroe y Elizabeth Taylor usaban los labios oscuros, y fueron ellas quienes impusieron esa moda en 1950. En 1973 salió el primer labial con sabor! Ahora en estos años las modas están variando mucho ya que como están las que se pinta los labios oscuros también están las que usan tonos más naturales o que usan de los dos como yo! Aunque ahora algo que está muy marcado son los labios oscuros que dan un toque más atrevido.

Tendencias

Este año seguimos con lo atrevido y llamativo de los labios, los rojos siguen siendo clásicos; los rosas un poco más femeninos; los tonos oscuros para este invierno los podrás notar mucho al salir a la calle, algo tipo burdeos y también tonos nude para un look más natural y sencillo. Qué tono te gusta usar a ti?

Cómo saber cual se te ve bien

Es muy importante saber que tono de color usar ya que si no usas el que te va bien puedes verte rara y aunque tu no lo notes te afecta en muchos aspectos, por ejemplo si te gusta usar el color rojo tienes que ver bien si eres base azul o base naranja ya que si usas la base equivocada los dientes se te ven amarillos y es algo que a nadie nos gusta!

Hace un tiempo tomé un curso de maquillaje y ahí descubrí como saber cual era mi tono, siempre había estado usando el tono equivocado, así que no quiero que les pase lo mismo y les paso el tip.

Echa un vistazo a tus muñecas, alcanzas a ver tus venas? Bueno pues ahí esta la clave! Fíjate que tono son, las vez más azules, verdes o moradas?

Si las vez más azules quiere decir que tu tono de piel es frío. Si las vez mas verdosas quiere decir que tu tono de piel es cálido. Si las vez mas moradas significa que estás en un punto medio. Ahora que ya descubriste tu tono puedes probar con un labial de la base que eres para que te des cuenta del cambio!

Dónde compro y cuáles?

Mi obsesión por los lipstick es enorme así que siempre que puedo compro, sea el color que sea, solo verifico que se me vea bien y listo! Mis tiendas favoritas para comprar son Sephora, ya tengo la VIB card jaja espero pronto tener la VIB Rouge, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Online en tiendas como Amazon, o hay una marca mexicana que me encanta que se llama PaiPai, después les platicare sobre ellos, pero existen infinidad de tiendas que venden, el chiste es probar y ver cuál es el que más te gusta!

We all love to paint our lips occasionally don’t you?

But have you ever wondered where the lipsticks come from or how were them invented? It is an interesting topic because if they did not exist, I don’t know what would have happened haha.

Lipsticks exist since prehistory, not as sophisticated like nowadays but they existed. The first are thought that arose in Mesopotamia, they crushed jewels and used them on the lips. Red came out of Egypt, Cleopatra used one that was of crushed carmine beetles.

In the sixteenth century with Queen Elizabeth I, it was the time when lipsticks were used the most, with white daces and red lips intensely, in that time lipsticks were made from beeswax and red pigments of plants. In the Second World Was, it was most popular due to the use they gave it on movies.

In 11884 Guerlain, a French company became the first commercial brand of lipsticks; they made it with deer tallow, castor oil, bees wax and then they covered it with wax paper.

In 1915 the first lipstick was sold in a metal container invented by Maurice Levy, but in 1923, James Bruce Mason Jr. created the rotating mechanism. In 1930, Max Factor invented lip-gloss.

As we may know, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor wore dark lips, and it was them who imposed that trend in 1950. In 1973 the first flavored lip came out!

Now in recent years trends are changing and vary a lot, there are the ones who use dark lips, nude lips, or like to use both depending on the occasion like me!

Trends

This year we continue with the bold and striking lips, red lips remain as classics, pink lips are a little more feminine; dark colors during winter are being used a lot, some burgundy and nude tones for a natural look. What tone do you like to use?

How to know which color suits you

It is very important to know what color suits us because if we chose the wrong one you may look weird and when though you don’t notice when you see pictures you note the mistake. For example, there are many tones of red, there are blue based and orange based, you have to check if you are blue or orange base when you choose a red tone so your teeth doesn’t look yellowish.

Not long ago, I took some lessons in makeup where I learned how to know the right tone when choosing lipsticks. I was using the wrong tone! I don’t want that to happen to you so here is the key.

Check out your wrists, can you see the color of your veins? Well that is the key!! Check the color, is it blue, green or purple?

If it is bluer it means that your skin tone is cool. If it is greener it means you have a warmer tone. And if your veins are purple both cool and warm tones look good on you.
