Greenhug

¡Hola! Loooong time no see jaja, ahora sí me pasé poquito, y la verdad es que sí extrañaba escribir.

El día de hoy les quiero platicar de un proyecto padrísimo llamado Greenhug. Tuve la oportunidad de platicar con Jorge que fue uno de los que llevó a cabo este proyecto para poder profundizar sobre de qué trata y todos los detalles que tienen que conocer. Todo empezó porque se dieron cuenta que existían muchos problemas en el medio ambiente y en un proyecto de prepa lo enfocaron en esto creando una pulsera sustentable que por cada una que se vende plantan un árbol.

Buscando inspiración de diseño con artesanos de México, se dieron cuenta de la gran necesidad por la que están pasando, de cómo es que las personas menosprecian su trabajo intentando comprar sus artesanías por menos dinero de lo que en realidad vale (muy mal) y esto les afecta muchísimo ya que llevar dinero a la mesa de sus hogares era cada vez más difícil, obligándolos a dejar a un lado estas tradiciones y buscar trabajo en una fábrica u otro lugar “más seguro”.

Ahora aparte de las pulseras, Greenhug tiene una línea de ropa porque también se dieron cuenta de que la segunda industria más contaminante es la textil, ya que la mayoría de las prendas están hechas de poliéster y/o algodón sintético y estos utilizan demasiados químicos para su producción. Los materiales de algodón orgánico o poliéster reciclado post consumo que utiliza la marca aparte de brindarte el beneficio de que tu piel respire mejor, la textura es más suave y aparte estás ayudando al medio ambiente de una manera significante.

Today I’m going to talk about a project that I really like, it is called Greenhug.  I had the opportunity to talk with Jorge, one of the owners of this project so that he could tell me about how does it worked and all the details that involved so you could get to know Greenhug.

It all started because they realized that there were many problems with the environment in a school project so they decided to create a sustainable bracelet and for every one they sold they would plant a tree.

They started looking for Mexican artisans so that they could do something with them and also help them because they were also in very bad conditions, they realized that people don’t really pay a fair price for the work artisans do, trying to buy it for less money and this affects them very much because with this money is with what they eat day by day, forcing them to quit artisan work and leave their families so they can look for a better job in factories or somewhere away from home.

Now they not only have bracelets at Greenhug, but also they now sell clothes that are also made from organic cotton and recycled polyester because the second industry that pollutes the most is the textile industry, so they are helping the environment and also clothing is pretty nice.
